UK-based thermoforming and plastic part manufacturer, Cox Wokingham Plastics, have reported an increasing number of businesses moving their supply chains to local, British sources.
Following an extended period of overseas instability and rising global costs, businesses that previously sourced manufactured parts internationally are increasingly localising their supply chains to benefit from improved stability, reduced transport times and the assurance of UK-made quality.
“Over the last few years, we’ve seen a noticeable shift in our customers’ priorities. In 2024, a study by Software Advice found that 69% of UK supply chain companies planned to switch all or most of their suppliers to ones that are closer to home to mitigate risks from geopolitical tensions.
Cox Wokingham Plastics believe this figure is now greater as more businesses appreciate the practical and commercial advantages that come with UK-made products.
